"WHEN IN KUNA...." :
Another Adventure loving Californian, Goatīs (see riders) younger brother JJ has joined the riding the spine team. Growing up with the sierra foothills of California as his playground, JJ developed a life long passion for physical activity and the outdoors that has translated into many hobbies and work as a professional river rafting guide.
At UC Santa Cruz JJ earned a BA in Environmental Studies while also learning more important things like how to surf and bomb hills on his longboard. JJ can be found actively pursuing just about any sport that involves a board (snowboarding most of all), but he also enjoys hiking, camping, climbing, soccer, biking (of course), beer brewing, and organic gardening.
From an early age, JJ shared his fatherīs enthusiasm for river rafting and started guiding with his father at the age of 17. Since then, JJ has guided rivers in Papua New Guinea, Ethiopia, Siberia, Turkey, Georgia, Tanzania, Panama, Alaska, and also the Grand Canyon.
JJ has traveled extensively on rivers, but never on bicycle and is excited about the myriad possibilities offered by a pedal powered journey.
