Riding The Spine

(Updated - 06-08-09)

They succesfully ran the Cotahuasi, with 7 days on the river from Sipia Falls down to Iquipi for take out.

As J said, "The river is full-on!" offering non-stop class IV-V rapids for 5 straight days.

They flipped a few times, got stuck in tremendous holes that swept paddlers into the water for sketchy class V swims, and only really had to portage one rapid.

The canyon was filled with elaborate ruins from Incan and Pre-Incan times including tombs filled with skeletons.

They are currently headed back to their bikes to continue traversing the Andes towards Bolivia.

Riding the Spine Down South America

After about two years and almost 20,000 kilometers of traveling, they have arrived in South America.

In a very challenging section of their trip they paddled from Panama into Colombia through the Kuna Nation.

Upon arriving in Colombia they sold their kayaks and rebuilt their bikes to continue their journey to the southernmost point of South America.

They are looking forward to riding sections of the Inca Trail, some more rafting trips in Peru and Ecuador, and biking in the Andes.

Check back soon to find out more about their current adventures..
