Before I got in the theatre business I was an attorney. I’m still liscensed in Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho and Colorado. Next time, and I’m certain there will be a next time, you get yourselves in such a mess send me an e-mail. Although no one could have gotten you a better deal, and the mystery of Goat’s name is now revealed. Take care. I saw nothing, I heard nothing and I know nothing. T.J.

Yep. Sorry you should always hike your bikes across the canyon. It is too dangerous to ride the canyon corridor, if not for you then for the sake of other people or mules. BUT, the NPS and the judge over reacted to your sentencing. A fine is more than sufficient. 48 hours of jailtime and banning you from parks for 5 years? Come on. I’ve seen NPS felony embezzelers get less.

Well, just chalk it up to part of your Grand Adventure. Sorry if my book got ya lost. Scott Morris of topofusion.com has done some good work getting the entire route GPSed.

Just now viewed the video. Loved it! I live in California now. This makes me miss desert riding something awful.

One clarification. Most of the route in this video is not “official” Arizona Trail. It’s a mountain biking alternative route for The AZT thru-bike trail I developed for my book.

Good job guys. Hope I get to meet you some day. I did the Fairbanks to Prudhoe with a friend in 2001. So nice to see the pics!

Hey guys hats off to you! I really enjoyed reading about your rides. Unfortunately, I learned about it through the National Park Service’s website today, in which they published your story as the headliner.

Unfortunately you ran into some rangers who have nothing better to do with their time then search the internet for violations, whereas their time would be better spent searching for ongoing crimes. So if you would have made it to Mexico, I wonder if they would have requested extradition?

As a tax payer and park ranger I am embarrased by the rangers from the Grand Canyon on this case. What a waste of gov’t money. I guess the rangers grew tired of harassing the locals and decided to move onto you fellows; that and they probably needed some extra money to fund their annual search and rescue beer party, thus the $500 donations. I can’t believe they put you in the Coconino Jail for 48 hours, what a crock! I have had serious offenders spend less time then that. I guess the Saguaro and GRCA rangers saw you all as being an easy target and source for their SAR party.

Even though your experience with the rangers from Grand Canyon was bad, please don’t think were all bad. Had you taken this to trial, I am positive that you would have won if not on initial appearance, definitely on appeal. One thing comes to mind about the Grand Canyon folks, and that is from comedian Carlos Mencia, and his famous verbage for stupidity, and that is, “Dee-de-dee”. So think of Dee-de-dee when you think of the Grand Canyon rangers.

So fellows keep on wheelin it, as a mountain biker I enjoy reading your advenutures, and I will check back in with you. Forget the idiots of Grand Canyon and have a great, life changing adventure. Support more trails for bikers and less harassment from horse riders and Grand Canyon rangers!
